Don't miss these 2010 Newbery Award Winners

The 2010 Newbery Award winners include books you don't want to miss.

When You Reach Me by Rebecca Stead is this years medal winner. In it, twelve-year-old Miranda encounters shifting friendships, a sudden punch, a strange homeless man and mysterious notes that hint at knowledge of the future. These and other seemingly random events converge in a brilliantly constructed plot.

The Evolution of Calpurnia Tate by Jacqueline Kelly, Where the Mountain Meets the Moon by Grace Lin, and The Mosltly True Adventures of Homer P. Figg by Rodman Philbrick round out the honor books.

Nice list of books for those into football! Too bad the Jets are not in it!

If you are not into football, you might want to try these books:
"Powerless" by Matthew Cody. Tough to be the new kid in town, but
then not to have a super power! And how did those kids get those powers?

If you liked the Percy Jackson series maybe you will like "Odysseus in the
Serpent Maze" an adventure of a Greek hero by Jane Yolen and Robert J.
Harris. Another choice would be "D'Aulaires' Book of Greek Myths to read
more about the Greek gods.
